SAVE the DATE for the 2024 NTX Academies Forum on Saturday morning, April 6th in Carrollton! Senator John Cornyn, Senator Ted Cruz & other congressional colleagues are co-hosting this informational outreach event to provide interested North Texas students, grades 8-12, and their parents an excellent opportunity to learn more about our nation's service academies, requirements for admission and the selection process.

Date: Saturday, April 6, 2024
Time: 8:00 AM - 12:00 Noon; Registration opens onsite at 7:30 AM.
Place: Creekview High School, 3201 Old Denton Rd., Carrollton, TX 75007

Representatives from congressional offices and all five service academies (U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Coast Guard Academy, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and U.S. Air Force Academy), as well as representatives from DODMERB and Air Force, Army, Navy and Marine Corps ROTC have been invited to be on hand to answer questions and distribute information. Attendees can meet with these representatives on a one-to-one basis to become informed about the excellent educational opportunities available to qualified young men and women who want to serve their country.

Mentors, Guidance Counselors and other school officials are also invited to attend. This free event will begin at 8:00 AM; registration opens onsite at 7:30 AM. RSVPs are not required. The 2023 North Texas Academies Forum will be held on Saturday morning, April 1st at FWISD’s Teaching & Learning Center, 1050 Bridgewood Drive in Fort Worth, 76112. (Note: this is a different location from last year.)

North Texas students, grades 8-12, will have the opportunity to learn more about our nation's service academies, requirements for admission and the selection process. Parents, mentors, Guidance Counselors and other school officials are also invited to attend. This annual informational outreach event is free and open to the public. Onsite event registration will open to students at 7:30 AM. The program will run from 8:00 – 11:00 AM, followed by a breakout session from 11:00 AM – 12:00 NOON.

In addition to congressional staff, representatives from all five academies (U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Coast Guard Academy, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and U.S. Air Force Academy), as well as current academy cadets and midshipmen, and representatives from DODMERB and Air Force, Army, Navy and Marine Corps ROTC are being invited to be present onsite and in-person to answer questions and distribute information. Attendees can meet with these representatives on a one-to-one basis to become informed about the excellent educational opportunities available to qualified young men and women who want to serve their country.

Hello- As you know, the 2020 North Texas U.S. Service Academies Forum scheduled for April 4th at Texas Christian University (TCU) in Fort Worth was cancelled due to COVID-19. After reviewing several options for online academy events, Congressman Burgess decided to host a “Virtual Academy Day” on his website.

This informational forum provides interested high schoolers the opportunity to learn more about our nation's service academies, requirements for admission and the selection process. Students and their parents are encouraged to view the individual presentations from Congressman Burgess, academy reps and graduates, congressional staff, ROTC branches and the Department of Defense Medical Exam Review Board (DODMERB). CANCELLATION NOTICE: The North Texas U.S. Service Academies Forum that was scheduled to be held at Texas Christian University (TCU) in Fort Worth on Saturday, April 4th is now cancelled. In accordance with social gathering restrictions announced by the City of Fort Worth and Texas Governor Greg Abbot based upon recommendations by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), this event has been cancelled to reduce the risk of transmitting the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and look forward to holding this event in the future.
