As a Lieutenant General, I had the real honor of spending time with our 1st Infantry Division Forward Soldiers in Poznan, Poland. CSM Raymond Harris and I got to sit down with our junior Soldiers and NCOs, sharing meals, conversations, and moments that remind us why we serve. We also led a leader development session and received detailed briefings from our outstanding team on the ground. Yesterday was a proud moment as the 1st Infantry Division Forward officially took over the Atlantic Resolve mission from the 1st Cavalry Division during the Transfer of Authority ceremony. Our troops are fired up and ready, committed to strengthening readiness, deepening trust with our NATO Allies, and pushing themselves through tough, realistic training. The pride and spirit of the Big Red One was on full display, and I couldnโt be prouder of the way they carry the mission forward.

Do you work around the clock? Neither do our Military Working Dogs!
MWD handlers refer to it as โbonding training,โ essential for building a strong team, but for Tomas ๐, itโs just โplaytime.โ ๐๐ฅณ๐ช
We know Spc. Bryant Olarte is having a great time too! ๐

This past Monday at Bagram Airfield was a moment Iโll never forget, Maj. Gen. JT Thomson placed the brigadier general rank on my uniform during a promotion ceremony. Standing there, wearing that new rank, stepping into the role of deputy commander for support with the 1st Cavalry Division, it was humbling, surreal, and an incredible honor all at once. Proud to serve alongside the best.

I never went looking for the easy road, I took the one that tested me. More discipline. More heart. More of everything. Not to impress anyone, but to prove to myself that I could. Sometimes, all it takes is someone saying 'you can't', and thatโs all the fire you need to quietly show them you can. No spotlight, no applause, just purpose. If youโve ever chosen the harder path just because it was hardโฆ you already know. That kind of strength? It hits different. And yeah, thatโs something to be damn proud of. ๐ช๐บ๐ธ
