Precinct 2 staff and I attended the employee preview of the newly renovated Tarrant County Sheriff’s Training Academy.
We enjoyed a tour of the updated facility led by Cpt. Brittain, Lt. Morris, and Sgt. Williams, and had the opportunity to observe future officers as they completed their state exams.
The renovated academy includes updated classrooms, testing areas, and modern training spaces designed to better prepare recruits for service in Tarrant County.
Thank you to the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office for the opportunity to tour the new academy and learn more about the training process for future officers.

At yesterday’s Commissioners Court meeting, I presented a resolution recognizing Mental Health Awareness Month in Tarrant County on behalf of Commissioner Roderick Miles,Jr.
Mental health impacts individuals, families, and communities across our county. Open discussions about mental health help break stigma, encourage support, and remind people they are not alone.
We recognized the courage of those living with mental health challenges. We also honor the loved ones, advocates, and mental health professionals who provide care and support every day.
Special thank you to Mental Health Connection Executive Director Christina Judge, Kim Brennan, Frances Wampler with Cook Children’s Center for Community Health, and Ryle Shaw for joining us at Commissioners Court.
Thank you for the work you do to raise awareness, support families, and connect residents to critical mental health resources across Tarrant County.

I had the honor of presenting a resolution this weekend in recognition of Vesak, a celebration of the birth, enlightenment, and passing of Buddha, at Hung Dan Vipassana Temple in Fort Worth.
The celebration brought together community members to reflect on peace, compassion, and service.
I was glad to be joined by Councilmember Deborah Peoples and State Representative Nicole Collier. Moments like this strengthen our collective commitment to peace, compassion, and connection across Tarrant County.
