Members of Arlington Professional Fire Fighters Local #1329 showed our support for Mayor Jim Ross and his continued commitment to the firefighters, first responders, and citizens of Arlington.

We appreciate leaders who listen, support public safety initiatives, and recognize the dedication our firefighters bring to this community every single day.

Local #1329 remains committed to protecting and serving Arlington — both on and off duty.

Today we honor and remember Firefighter Ronny Snow, who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty on this day in 1985 while serving the citizens of Arlington.

Firefighter Snow gave his life during a training exercise, a reminder that the risks of this profession exist even when we are preparing to protect others. His dedication, courage, and commitment to service represent the very best of the fire service.

Though many years have passed, his sacrifice is never forgotten. We remember not only the firefighter he was, but the brother, son, and friend whose legacy remains part of our department’s history.

Today we pause to honor his memory and to stand with his family and loved ones. His name and sacrifice continue to remind us why we serve.

Rest easy, Brother Snow. We have the watch.

Following yesterday’s campaign filing deadline, the Arlington Professional Fire Fighters PAC reported a historic $86,000 cash on hand—driven by record participation and increased contributions from our members.

This strength allows us to support candidates who stand with firefighters. Whether it’s protecting four-person staffing, fighting for cost-of-living adjustments, or ensuring a firefighter-friendly City Council, these elections matter.

After a historic legislative session that delivered twelve firefighter bills and unprecedented funding for research, maintaining strong relationships at the Capitol—and returning our allies in 2027—is just as critical.

We are poised to protect our interests, but we need you to stand with us by supporting candidates that support your firefighters!

Congratulations to Secretary/Treasurer Markham, and Vice Presidents Berber, Eck, and Keeler on their reelections by acclamation! They will continue to serve the members of L-1329 with the remainder of the board (President Studer, and Vice Presidents Horne and Wright).

This week, several members of our Executive Board proudly attended the Sandy McGhee Union Leadership Conference 2025 in Wichita Falls.

The conference provided valuable opportunities to strengthen leadership skills, build solidarity, and continue advancing the mission of protecting and supporting Arlington’s firefighters and their families.

This week, your Arlington Firefighters will be out in the community supporting the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) through our annual Fill the Boot campaign!

📍 Where: Throughout Arlington

For nearly 70 years, firefighters across the country have partnered with MDA to bring hope, strength, and independence to families affected by muscular dystrophy and related diseases. Together, we’ve made a real difference—and we’re not stopping now.
