The Virginia Department of Transportation is seeking feedback on a STARS (Strategically Targeted Affordable Roadway Solutions) study assessing potential safety, operational, transit, and bicycle/pedestrian improvements along Route 7, from the Leesburg Bypass (Route 15)/East Market Street (Route 7 Business) interchange to the Algonkian Parkway/Atlantic Boulevard (Dulles Town Center) interchange.

VDOT encourages residents and travelers to take an online survey regarding corridor priorities. This feedback will be used to help develop improvement alternatives that will be evaluated and presented during another opportunity for public comment scheduled later this year. The survey will be open through this Saturday, March 19. The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) was notified of a confirmed case of measles at Washington Dulles International Airport on Wednesday, March 5, 2025.

Health officials in Maryland and Virginia are working to identify people who may have been exposed to the highly contagious illness. Anyone who may have been in Dulles Airport’s Terminal A, on transportation to the main terminal, and in the baggage claim area between 4:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on the evening of March 5 should monitor themselves for symptoms until March 26, and isolate and contact their healthcare provider if symptoms occur.

• Data Center Standards and Locations: The Board will further discuss its efforts to amend the county’s Zoning Ordinance that would make all future data centers in the county a special exception use (SPEX). These discussions include a grandfathering resolution that would allow land use applications submitted before February 12, 2025, to continue being processed under the current land use and development regulations, and additional draft amendments that would allow minor revisions to data center site plans without SPEX approvals. • Improved Access to Early Voting: The Board will discuss staff’s recommendations to expand the county’s early satellite voting locations.
