We support a women’s shelter in India where survivors of abuse are given a second chance, alongside their children. Through home-based learning, their children don’t just wait, they learn, grow, and begin again.

For Rekha*, home was once a place of fear. Today, it’s a place of safety, healing, and new beginnings for her and her daughter, Jeevitha*.

We support a secure women’s shelter that provides exactly this -- a safe space, counseling, and the support needed to rebuild life, for victims of abuse or human trafficking.

Meet Athira (name changed) – a 7-year-old with a quiet determination and a love for learning.

Her family moved to Bangalore in search of work, like so many others. While her parents worked long hours, Tara found a safe, nurturing space at our early learning partner — a center dedicated to children of migrant workers who might otherwise be left without care or learning opportunities.

Here, Athira built strong foundations in reading, numbers, language, and… confidence. Today, she’s in school and still returns for after-school support, holding onto her dream of becoming a teacher.
