Somewhere in India, your giving becomes education, safety, and second chances for women and children.
Not all heroes carry lightsabers. Some choose to give, so someone else gets a chance to rise.
That’s the force we believe in.

Lydia is a burn survivor who escaped abuse. She now lives in a safe house in Bengaluru, India that we support, rebuilding her life with her daughter.

Here, recovery goes beyond safety. Through the shelter’s in-house bakery, women gain skills that turn work into income and independence.

Because rebuilding a life takes more than refuge. It takes a livelihood and the chance to dream again.

For many children here, life didn’t begin in classrooms. It began in fear. When their mothers choose to leave abuse, they arrive here, to safety and a second chance.

Through open schooling, they return to learning and begin to imagine a different future. Because every child deserves more than safety. They deserve a real chance forward.

This is what your giving makes possible.

They stood in the same storm.
Now they stand in the same light.

A mother who chose courage.
A child who gets to grow up knowing what safety feels like.

This is what a second chance looks like.
This is what healing can become.

Because every woman deserves to rebuild.
And every child deserves a childhood that isn’t shaped by fear.

In a place once meant for safety, she’s found something more.
A lesson. A rhythm. A dream taking shape.

We support a women’s shelter in India where survivors of abuse are given a second chance, alongside their children. Through home-based learning, their children don’t just wait, they learn, grow, and begin again.

This is the difference you make.

For Rekha*, home was once a place of fear. Today, it’s a place of safety, healing, and new beginnings for her and her daughter, Jeevitha*.

We support a secure women’s shelter that provides exactly this -- a safe space, counseling, and the support needed to rebuild life, for victims of abuse or human trafficking.

Because every woman deserves safety. And every child deserves to grow up in it.

Meet Athira (name changed) – a 7-year-old with a quiet determination and a love for learning.

Her family moved to Bangalore in search of work, like so many others. While her parents worked long hours, Tara found a safe, nurturing space at our early learning partner — a center dedicated to children of migrant workers who might otherwise be left without care or learning opportunities.

Here, Athira built strong foundations in reading, numbers, language, and… confidence. Today, she’s in school and still returns for after-school support, holding onto her dream of becoming a teacher.

Some children spend their days waiting...waiting for their parents to return from work.
Our early learning partner changes that — creating safe spaces for children of migrant workers to learn and grow.

Tara (name changed) is one of them. At 7, she’s now in formal school, still returning after hours to keep learning. Her dream? To become a teacher.

Because when a child is given more than time to wait…they begin to shine.
Help more children like Tara find their light. Link in bio.

Across India, women and children are still denied access to safety, education, and opportunity. A Billion Dreams Fund exists to change that.

Sonia didn’t just leave a home, she escaped a nightmare.
Drugged. Violated. Betrayed in ways words can’t fully hold.
And when she tried to seek help, no one came.

So one day, with two little boys by her side, she ran.
No plan. No safety net. Just a fierce will to survive.
At the women’s shelter we support, Sonia (name changed) found something she hadn’t felt in years: safety. And slowly, piece by piece, her life began to come back together.

Through counselling, she began to heal. Today, she runs her own small business.
Her children are safe, steady, and growing up with the childhood they deserve.
From unimaginable trauma… to a life rebuilt with dignity.
This is what your support makes possible.

As a child, Lydia survived a kitchen fire and later an abusive marriage that left her deeply scarred.
Today, those scars no longer define her story.
With the steady support of the women’s shelter that we, A Billion Dreams Fund, are privileged to stand with, this new year begins with confidence, leadership, and freedom, as Lydia builds a stable future for herself and her daughter, Leora.
From survival to strength, they step into the year with hope and quiet determination.
