Matt Elementary OFFICIAL page of Matt Elementary, home to over 1,000 wonderful students. Located in Cumming, Georgia since 2001! Ms.

Matt Elementary opened in 2001 with approximately 600 students. It was named after the original Matt Elementary, which was located on Bannister Road. The “Old Matt” school was named after the Matt community, which was named after Matison Martin. The original Matt school held 75 students in multiple grades. Rather than desks, students sat on slab benches around an open fireplace. Their drinking water came from a nearby spring and students walked to school. Mary Harwell was the first principal of the new Matt Elementary. The school was a new design concept (the same as Cumming Elementary) and was built to relieve overcrowding in north-west Forsyth County.

Seven principals. Seven schools. ONE North United Cluster!
All seven North United principals have accepted the October Attendance Showdown! 💜🖤🤍
Throughout October, our schools will compete for the highest student attendance percentage, with a Weekly Attendance Champion recognized each week.
And the grand prize? 🎉 The school with the highest overall attendance percentage for October wins a popsicle celebration for the entire school!
Our message is simple:
👻 DON’T GHOST US!
💜 Show up.
🖤 Be present.
🤍 Every Day Counts. Every School Competes.

The tradition continues!
Our 5th grade Mariners had a blast cheering on the North Forsyth High School Homecoming Parade and scoring some major candy along the way! The floats were spectacular, festive, and full of school spirit, making it such a fun experience for everyone who attended.
A special shoutout to our very own Mrs. Tribble and Assistant Administrator Mr. Baker, who joined the parade with their creative "House Divided" vehicle. While the rivalry may have been split, one thing was clear: Mrs. Tribble was all in when it came to sharing the candy! We think she may have thrown more treats to her Mariners than anyone else!
North United-Better Together!
Here are just a few from the parade!

October 2nd was National Custodian Appreciation Day, and we want to take a moment to recognize the incredible members of our custodial team: Cindy Gaddis, David Gordon, Diane Jackson, Stacey Jackson, and Odaris Erazo.

Their hard work, dedication, and care help keep Matt Elementary clean, safe, and welcoming for everyone who walks through our doors. From preparing classrooms and common areas to handling countless tasks behind the scenes, they play an essential role in supporting our students and staff each day.

Thank you for all you do for our Mariner family. We appreciate you not just on National Custodian Appreciation Day, but every day!
