BARROW COUNTY WARMING CENTER TO OPEN SATURDAY AFTERNOON

As temperatures fall and the risk of power outages climbs, Barrow County has opened a warming center for citizens in need.

The center is located at 774 Christmas Avenue in Bethlehem — inside the old Barrow County Fire Station 3.

It will open at 4 p.m. Saturday, January 24.

Space is available on a first come, first served basis.I

Saint Ives residents: Today the City of Winder water department will be installing a much needed pump system behind the front sign. This will improve the water pressure in the neighborhood. Also will help with pressure in case of a fire. This is a $100k+ investment to the system and 20 years past due. There maybe small interruptions in service and low pressures. Thanks for your patience and if there are larger problems, contact the water department.
