International Women's House is grateful for RedRover, Purina’s Purple Leash Project, & KONG for making our new onsite dog park possible!

As one of the few shelters in the Atlanta area that welcomes pets, we recognize that concern for a beloved animal can be a real barrier for someone trying to leave an abusive situation. Because of this support, survivors who arrive with their pets now have a safe outdoor space where their dogs can run, play, and decompress during a difficult transition.

Thank you to Red Rover and Purina’s Purple Leash Project for helping us build this space, and to KONG for donating toys to keep our shelter pets happy and engaged.

If you’d like to support the pets staying in our shelter, you can view our pet wishlist here: https://amzn.to/4ckZFDK

Join us for an engaging virtual panel exploring how prevention through education and community-based groups can transform the way we build connection, resolve conflict, and strengthen families.

This conversation brings together voices from the field to examine how early intervention, shared learning, and collective support can interrupt cycles of harm before they take root. Panelists will offer insight into the why behind this work and the approach guiding the development of forthcoming community-based groups, focused on relationship health to prevent domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking.

✨ Let’s shift the narrative from surviving to thriving!

International Women's House is proud to stand alongside the Fulton County District Attorney's Office in launching the Family Justice Center.

No survivor should have to navigate a maze to access safety, justice, and healing. When services come together, barriers come down—and liberation becomes possible.

This work reminds us that it truly takes a village and a collaborative effort to effectively serve survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. When we leverage one another and our collective resources, we move from intention to impact!

We’ve all got one - the junk drawer. Tangled cords, random chargers, old remotes, maybe even a pair of broken sunglasses. This season, we’re having a little fun with it through our first-ever Mystery Drawer Challenge!

Here’s how it works:

Snap a picture (or share a quick story) of the strangest, funniest, or most unexpected item in your junk drawer or in your lost-and-found or property-and-evidence rooms.

Post it here on our page or on LinkedIn (International Women's House), or on our Instagram page (), and use

Cast your vote by “liking” your favorite entries.

On December 15th, we’ll announce two winners:
Most Unusual Junk Drawer Find
Most Unusual Lost-and-Found Discovery
Each winner will receive a prize—something far more useful than that old charger!

Most Importantly: while we’re having fun with clutter, we’re also shining a light on something serious. Those unused electronic devices can be donated and transformed into lifelines for survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking. Visit 911cellphonebank.org to donate devices today.

So, show us your mystery drawer treasures and remember to set aside those unused devices. Together, we continue to turn forgotten items into powerful tools of safety and hope.

International Women’s House

International Women’s House is a domestic violence shelter with a mission to provide a safe haven and supportive services to women and children who are the victims of family violence, sexual abuse, and human trafficking, with a focus on immigrant and refugee women and children, cultural sensitivity and self-sufficiency. We have served Metro-Atlanta survivors since 1997.

If you are currently in an abusive relationship, victim of trafficking or sexual assault, call our 24/7 hotline for assistance: (770) 413-5557.

Some of these critical services include: legal advocacy, immigration assistance, transitional housing assistance, mental & physical health assessments, financial skills building, job training & placement, English as a second language, parenting skills training and children’s programs.
