Your attention belongs on the road not your phone.
Distracted driving only takes a second, but that second can change everything. Whether it’s answering a text, adjusting your GPS, scrolling through music, or reaching for something in the car, taking your eyes off the road puts everyone at risk.
Georgia’s Hands-Free Law makes it illegal to hold or support your phone while driving. Drivers cannot text, read messages, scroll social media, or watch videos behind the wheel. If you need to use your phone, it must be hands-free through Bluetooth, speakerphone, a mounted device, or voice commands. Violations can result in fines and points on your driving record.
Stay focused behind the wheel:
• Put the phone away 📵
• Set your navigation and music before driving
• Use hands-free features if needed
• Keep your attention on the road
• Speak up if someone else is driving distracted
No text, notification, or phone call is worth a crash. Stay alert, stay focused, and help keep our roads safe for everyone.
