Greetings,
The election is over and the people have spoken. To my family, friends, and supporters, for all that you have done during this election I say ... THANK YOU!
To my detractors, I say that I regret that you never figured out that this election was never about one individual but about generations.
And to those who chose to stay home on Election Day, you must do better to understand the value of your vote. The pundits will write this off as a political normality for people of color, who historically do not turnout in runoff elections and other nonpresidential elections. But, the problem is far more serious than that. Our freedom - political freedom, economic freedom, personal freedom, and physical freedom are determined by our political participation. While national elections will always garner far more attention than local, it is often the local elections that have the most immediate impact on our lives. We must grow beyond our petty personal politics and begin to seriously work for the good of our community and our future.
While I am physically worn out, financially exhausted, I am not broken and will continue to serve our community. Once again thank you, thank you, thank you!
