This guy! This leader has made a meaningful difference in our community in his service as Deputy Director these past three years. This week has been difficult as we say goodbye to a teammate, and ‘see you soon, neighbor’ to Matthew Thomas. We wish him all the best in his new endeavor! Great things are in store for this Gentleman and his career path. We’re grateful for him and for still being able to serve our region and state together in the future. ‘See you soon’, Matthew!

⚡ Announcing the future of energy production at Plant Bowen! ⚡

Since 1971, Plant Bowen has been an essential part of Georgia Power’s diverse generation mix, helping deliver reliable energy as Georgia has grown along with high-quality jobs for Northwest Georgia. Today, we’re building on that legacy with new investments that will help meet the state’s growing energy needs for decades to come.

🏗️ Construction is underway on two new combined-cycle natural gas units that will add nearly 1,500 MW of generation, along with a new 500 MW battery energy storage system.

We were proud to join the U.S. Department of Energy, elected officials and community leaders, this week at the plant to celebrate the legacy of the plant, new investment and expansion and what it means for reliable, affordable energy for our customers. ⚡🔋
