Luella High School CCRPI score increases
The Georgia Department of Education released the 2016 CCRPI scores for every Georgia public school on Thursday, December 8, 2016. The College and Career Ready Performance Index – CCRPI – is Georgia’s annual tool for measuring how well its schools are preparing students for the next educational level.
The CCRPI includes four main components: Achievement, Progress, Achievement Gap, and Challenge Points. These components, encompassing multiple indicators, are combined for a total CCRPI score on a scale of 0 to 100, with a possibility of 10 additional points.

The 2016 CCRPI score is based on last school year performance: 2015 – 2016. Luella High School’s 2016 CCRPI score is 71.3 which is up from the 2015 score of 66.5, which is an increase of 4.8 points.

National History Day students going to Nationals.
In the state competition of National History Day the following Lions excelled and will be moving on to the National competition.
Adanna Onwuka and Laletta Wilson won 1st place in performance.
John Zoellner and Sydney Keller won 2nd place in Exhibit.
They are going to Nationals in Maryland in June!

Luella High School held a Pushup Challenge to support the 22Kill global movement to raise funds and awareness for veteran su***de and mental health issues such as PTS and TBI. The Luella High School Community did 9000 pushups and raised more than $500.00 Thank you to all that donated $$.
Special Shout Out to Ms. Bull, who did 30 push-ups!

Mrs. Williams' biology and anatomy classes are investigating infectious diseases and asking the question "Can we Infect the World?" Marcus Collins, a Research Biologist with the CDC spoke to the classes on Thursday about different infectious diseases and how they are spread. What a great authentic learning experience!

Great news from the Georgia State Science Fair awards ceremony!
Luella High was well-represented by Brooke Worley, Sydney Keller, Francesca Lajesse, and John Zoellner with top-tier research projects
The team of Brooke Worley and Sydney Keller claimed best Biology research project in the state and was a top 4 project overall! They earned a trip to represent Georgia at the International Science Fair to be held in May in Phoenix.
This makes 3 out of the past 4 years where Luella students have won high honors at the state science fair and continued onto the International level.
