"The wildlife and its habitat cannot speak, so we must and we will" - Theodore Roosevelt
We are entering our busiest season for wildlife rehabilitation at Dauset Trails. Day in and day out, our wildlife rehabilitators care for injured and orphaned native animals with one goal in mind: getting them back where they belong, in the wild.
If you’d like to support our wildlife rehabilitation efforts, please consider donating using the link below. Thank you for being a part of giving Georgia’s wildlife a second chance at life. We truly couldn’t do it without you. 🤍

Dauset Trails Nature Center is a special place for our community—free, family-friendly, and full of opportunities to get outside and connect with nature.
After devastating flood damage, the Daughtry Foundation stepped up to help rebuild and create new gravity trails, including Black Widow, Peta Parka, and Itsy Bitsy—restoring and improving what was lost.
Now we’re focused on protecting what’s been built. We’re raising funds to install Trail Armor on Black Widow and Peta Parka to reduce erosion, strengthen high-use sections, and keep these trails fast, safe, and sustainable for years to come.
If you’ve ridden here, walked here, or simply value having a place like this in our community, this is your chance to help preserve it.
Ride it. Protect it.

If you come across a baby or injured wild animal, we know your first instinct is to help💛, but please remember—while Dauset Trails Nature Center does rehabilitate wildlife, our space is very limited!
In many cases, animals that seem “orphaned” are actually being cared for nearby and are perfectly capable of surviving on their own. The best thing you can usually do is leave them where they are.
If you’re unsure what to do, visit our website for guidance on next steps!🐾

As a reminder, we rely on your support through donations and gift shop purchases to help care for the animals that call Dauset home. Every visit and every contribution makes a difference!✨

Happy Earth Day 🌎💚
A little bluebird, a quiet moment, and a reminder of why it all matters. These are the sights we work to protect—not just today, but every day. 🐦
Last Saturday’s Bluebirds & Bluegrass Festival was such a beautiful success, and it felt like the perfect kickoff to Earth Day week—celebrating community, nature, and the bluebirds that bring so much life to our spaces.
Thank you for showing up, supporting, and loving this place as much as we do. Here’s to continuing to care for the Earth and the little bluebirds that call it home. 🌿💙
