Across our communities, working people are facing low wages, unsafe working conditions, rising rents, and deepening barriers to healthcare. Medicaid cuts are putting pressure on caregivers, seniors, and disabled residents, while the lack of paid leave forces families to choose between their health and their income. At the same time, policies like the 2025 tax law continue to prioritize corporations and the wealthy over everyday people.

This townhall will create space for community members to share their experiences, connect the dots across these issues, and build a collective vision for economic justice rooted in dignity, care, and working-class solidarity.

This powerful documentary highlights the urgent need for Paid Family & Medical Leave and the real impact its absence has on people’s lives. Together, we’ll deepen our understanding of why Paid Leave for All is not only necessary – but achievable – and explore how we can build collective power to win it.

Our screening will be held on May 13, 2026 at 6pm inside the IBEW Building Auditorium (501 Pulliam St SW, Atlanta, GA 30312). Food will be provided! We also encourage attendees to bring a favorite dish or dessert to share as part of our semi-potluck style dinner.

Make sure to vote early for the May 19th Primaries! Early voting starts today. The benefit of voting early is that you can avoid the long lines on Election Day, and you have the flexibility to vote at any open polling place within your registered county. If you're unsure where to vote, check your county's Board of Elections website to find out which polling places are open during the Early Voting Period. Some election websites even provide wait times!

Not sure who is on the ballot? Visit the Secretary of State's website to view a sample ballot. During primary elections, there are often many candidates, so the best voters are informed voters! Use websites like branch.vote, ballotpedia, or vote411.org to research the candidates and make choices that align with your values!
