New Tax Assessments

This year the Georgia General Assembly passed new legislation to change how your property tax assessment looks. On April 2, Senate Bill 566 was signed into law by the Governor requiring the Georgia Department of Revenue to redesign the assessment notices.

All counties in Georgia must use this form.

A tax estimate was not included in this new design because millage rates involving Walton County, Walton County School Board and/or the Cities, which determine your bill, are not set. Therefore, any estimate provided will not be accurate. What you see on your notice is information pertaining to the value of your property and all exemptions you're receiving. If you feel the value of your property is not correct, you can appeal this by July 6, 2026 by contacting the Walton County Tax Assessors Office.

Due to the current flood warning and severe inclement weather in our area, tonight’s NEGRC Comprehensive Plan Update meeting for Walton County has been postponed.

The safety of our residents and staff is our top priority. We will announce a rescheduled date and time on our page as soon as possible.

Operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, our EMTs, AEMTs, and Paramedics provide life saving Advanced Life Support (ALS) across the county. Dispatched from stations in Good Hope, Loganville, Monroe, Social Circle, Walker Park, and Youth, these highly trained professionals are always ready to answer the call when we need them most.

ELECTION DAY: Polls are OPEN today! Please verify your assigned polling location before heading out by visiting the My Voter Page at mvp.sos.ga.gov.

BUDGET HEARING: Join us at 5:00 PM for the FY 2027 Budget Public Hearing to share your comments on the proposed county budget at the Historic Courthouse. (Note: The BOC will NOT vote on the budget today. This hearing is for public comment only; the vote is scheduled for June 2nd.)
