Temple Middle School

The new front drive project is taking shape, and interior work is underway on the 7th grade hallway addition, with R.K. Redding construction working non-stop ensure we are complete for August.

Thank you to our Temple Cluster administrators for stopping by this morning to visit with Dr. Sean Schinella, the newly appointed principal of TMS.

Our teacher leaders also had the opportunity to meet with Dr. Schinella and spent the day planning initiatives for the 2026-2027 school year. The team's focus was unwavering, resulting in no pictures (gasp!) being taken. We have big plans for our Tigers this fall! 🐅 🏫 🍎

Dr. Sean Schinella is replacing Dr. Beers as principal of Temple Middle School. Dr. Beers will be serving the district as Director of Middle and High Schools beginning July 1.

Schinella is no stranger to Carroll County, beginning his teaching career at Temple Elementary School nearly 20 years ago while also coaching soccer, wrestling, and football at Temple High School. He has served as a middle school assistant principal since 2019 in the Paulding County School System. His wife, Ashley, is a Carroll County teacher, and their children are already part of Carroll County Schools.

“I am honored and excited to return to the Temple community where I began my career,” Schinella said. “I look forward to serving and working alongside our dedicated faculty, students and families as we continue working together to make Temple Middle School the very best it can be.”

Schinella holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of West Georgia, a master’s degree from Western Governors University and a specialist degree from Piedmont College. He earned his Doctor of Education degree from the University of Georgia in 2024.

Our Academic Team competed in the IAC National History Bowl, and we could not be more proud of these students! They worked incredibly hard and represented our school so well throughout the competition.

Orlando was a great trip filled unforgettable memories. We even celebrated afterward with a fun dinner at Rainforest Cafe!

TMS staff enjoyed lunch together to celebrate the end of the 2025-2026 school year. Thank you to Mr. Phil Cherry and the Gilham family for making sure we had a delicious lunch!

We are pleased to announce that Mrs. Kylee Joiner has been selected as the TMS Teacher of the Year!

Through her exceptional leadership in the art program, Mrs. Joiner has provided students with numerous opportunities to showcase their talents at a variety of venues and to explore the world of art at the High Museum.

Her contributions to the campus extend beyond the classroom, particularly through her work with the PBIS team, where her enthusiasm and dedication are invaluable to the students. She makes TMS better every day.
