Follow as Trey & Roxy journey through life together while navigating Type 1 Diabetes! Roxy joined our family in January 2014!
Trey was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes on Memorial Day weekend of 2011. He was born on December 17th 2005 along with his twin sister, Ellie. Together they weighed in at a whopping 14 lbs!! Both were healthy babies and continued on to be healthy toddlers. It's pretty safe to say that Diabetes rocked our world that weekend. What had began as a fun day to the start of what was going to be an awesome

There are no words that can describe the heartache of writing this post.… very unexpectedly, Roxy passed away yesterday. I’m still struggling as to what to even say but we owe it to her to lay her to rest with the love & loyalty she gave us.
We could tell she wasn’t quite herself but we had NO IDEA that when we took her to the vet that she wouldn’t come home with us.
We are devastated. We are in shock. We are angry. We need time to process & grieve. I’m sure I’ll have more words eventually but for now, I’m just going to take care of our broken hearts as we feel this incredible loss.
She would have been 10 years old on 8/23/22. In such a short time, she made an impact that is beyond measurable. She saved us so many times from the demons of diabetes & was nothing short of the many nicknames so perfectly placed on her… but the best being ROCKSTAR. You will be forever missed and never replaced.
We hope that you’re resting in peace sweet girl.

Since we’ve had Roxy, we’ve tried to take her swimming on numerous occasions & she just absolutely hates water. Even when she’s in service, wearing her vest in public, she will guide Trey completely around a puddle of water to avoid getting her feet wet. Tonight we thought we’d try again... it’s confirmed... Roxy still doesn’t like to even dip a toe in the water! 💦 🚫

We just had a fun virtual party celebrating Trey's 10 year Diaversary. Huge THANK YOU to all that participated. It's definitely not how we thought we would be celebrating, but given the COVID-19 circumstances this was the next best thing! 💙💙💙'

1- Zooming with an astronaut! You know, just a regular day here... doesn’t everyone do that?!?
2- Forgetting that you put another pod on, so now you have 2 & have to figure out which one is the working pump...
