Modified Wilhelmy Plate method for surface tension meter is the only useful method for dynamic surface tension measurement. And it can display the Sandwich Effect of surface tension of surfacant clearly.As show at the picture, surface tension was decreased very fastly at first, then was increased slowly due to the surfacant left the interface between the air and water.

In this video, we show you measurement of contact angle of water strider's leg. It is very hard to transfer drop to surface of a living water strider's leg due to its high contact angle and small OD of leg. We used PFTE needle with OD0.5mm and stainless steel needle with OD 0.2mm, and sprayer with volume down to 20 picoliter. But both of them can not successful to transfer drop to water strider's leg. In the end, we used high speed camera and captured an image when drop is stayed at surface of water strider's leg. Contact angle of water strider's leg is about 142°. And it is hard to get such high value with 167° as result described by JiangLei's team. (Water-repellent legs

In this video, we shown you how to measure contact angle of cicada's wings. Yes, we used a sample holder for measurement of contact angle. Otherwise, we can not get such perfect surface of cicada's wings as video shows. When we measuring contact angle, we find out that both side of cicada's wings keeps almost same contact angle about 120°.
