It was an energizing day representing the St. Ann’s FACTS Ministry at the Georgia State Capital!

2026 Human Trafficking Advocacy Day Summary:

HB490 -bill introduced last year to combat hotels being knowingly complicit in s*x trafficking.

HB1187 -aka "Trey’s Law”-bill prevents NDAs (non-disclosure agreements) in any case involving child s*x abuse (trafficking) cases.

The most poignant take away for Advocacy Day at the Capitol was from Rep. Brian Strickland (District 42) who reminded us that we must continue to “Show up and acknowledge the issue!”

S*x trafficking in Georgia is an ongoing issue. Traffickers are betting that Georgia citizens will forget the atrocities and news after a while. We must continue to stand up and speak for those who cannot. Join our fight!

🚨 Four Arrested in Operation Targeting Online Predators 🚨

Between October 14–16, 2025, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with our law enforcement partners, conducted a proactive undercover operation to identify and arrest individuals attempting to exploit minors online.

This three-day initiative resulted in the arrest of four suspects, each charged with Online Solicitation of a Minor, a felony offense.

Sheriff Ed Gonzalez stated: “These cases highlight the importance of proactive enforcement to protect our most vulnerable residents — our children.”

We remain committed to safeguarding our community and ensuring those who seek to harm children are brought to justice.

We were impressed with the artistic flair of the jewelry the girls made with their personalized bead boxes from the FACTS ministry! Are human traffickers more likely to be strangers to their victims? Interestingly enough, the opposite is usually the case. The idea that traffickers usually target strangers is one of the most widely believed myths about this crime. It’s far easier to believe that traffickers are scary, hooded strangers who lurk in grocery store parking lots at night instead of our everyday acquaintances or people we trust. But in reality, human trafficking tends to be highly personal. According to @polarisproject, traffickers are almost always someone victims already know and trust, with data showing employers, significant others, and family members as the top relationships for trafficking recruitment in the U.S. But why do traffickers tend to target individuals they already know?
