During GSU Service Days, Panthers spent the day at the Richard Allen Outreach Center, Saturday School Academy at Big Bethel—supporting a space that’s open Monday through Saturday for youth ages 6–16. From tutoring and mentoring to enrichment activities and robotics, the Academy creates opportunities for learning and growth. Our volunteers rolled up their sleeves to help keep this mission strong in the heart of Atlanta.

It might be summer in Atlanta, but a cold front has taken over one place: BJ’s office. Our Assistant Director of Civic Engagement is bundled up and powering through. Guess we’re adding “bring a jacket” to the office checklist.

Building community together.
At Senior Tech Day, GSU students helped local seniors feel more confident using their smartphones, tablets, and computers. It is more than just tech help. It is students and seniors coming together to share skills, stories, and support. As part of GSU Service Days, we are showing how small moments of connection make our community stronger together.

During our GSU Service Day at the Senior Center, Panthers bridged generations through technology. Students helped older adults navigate smartphones, emails, and everyday tech with patience and care.

It was more than a service project—it was a chance to connect, listen, and learn.
