State Representative 86 Jacqueline L. Adams

n 2015, she ran for State Representative of Georgia’s District 86 on the platform of, “You Can Make a Change.” Re-entering the arena in 2022 in quest of the same seat, she plans to focus on senior citizens assistance, mental illness, diversity, advocacy and childhood education. Her previous involvement includes serving on several senior citizens community projects such as Senior Connections where she helped facilitate fire safety and s*x education. She also serves as a mentor to the next generation of our youth. Alongside her husband and eldest son, she has run a youth mentoring program called D.R.R.L.L. (Discipline, Respect, Responsibility, Leadership and Love), of which the goals are to help promote and encourage youth ages 12-18, providing tools to govern their emotions, to communicate effectively, and practice life skills. Additionally, Jacqueline serves as a life coach. As such, she helps empower young women to love themselves
and take ownership of who they are. Jacqueline’s community advocacy, involvements, and accomplishments have prepared her to help represent Georgia citizens, especially those from District 86. As a long-time
resident of the district, she has witnessed many changes in the community. Shopping centers have gone out of business, leaving surrounding communities desperate to find essentials. The homeless population has increased, house prices have skyrocketed, crimes have increased, and so many other issues and problems have arisen. Accordingly, Jacqueline’s goal as Georgia State Representative for District 86 is to come up with a sustainable plan to rectify these issues. For example, eight years ago, the grocery store in her neighborhood was shut down. Jacqueline, along with fellow community advocates, lobbied to revitalize their community and to ensure they are not a food desert. Situations like these have given her the drive and determination to be a part of the change needed for their community. She firmly believes that through her work, aspirations and persistence, she will be a representative that District 86 needs for the people and the state of Georgia.
