We are THRILLED to see Atlanta's #18 ranking in Trust for Public Land's annual ParkScore! 🤩👏 This growth (up from #21 last year) reflects investment, advocacy, stewardship, and community leadership across our city’s parks and greenspaces.
But as Atlanta’s park system continues to grow and improve, potential funding cuts threaten the maintenance, staffing, and long-term sustainability needed to support this progress. Join us TONIGHT to advocate for an increased parks budget at the Budget Public Hearing:
📍 Atlanta City Hall – Council Chambers (55 Trinity Avenue SW)
📅 Wednesday, May 20
🕕 Arrive by 6:00 PM if you plan to give public comment, meeting begins at 6:15
💚 Wear green

Cedar Park’s renovation is officially complete! 🥳
From a 2020 Park Pride Vision Plan to last week's celebration of a multi-million-dollar park renovation, this project reflects years of community leadership by the Friends of Cedar Park, strong partnership with DeKalb County Recreation, Parks & Cultural Affairs, and shared investment in a park built to serve its neighbors.
The project, supported in part by a Park Pride grant and the 2020 Vision Plan, features new seating, a refreshed basketball court, a new playground, ADA accessible infrastructure, two pavilions, walking paths and more! Be sure to check it out!
Thank you to the Friends of Cedar Park, Commissioner Ted Terry, Commissioner Chakira Johnson, and DeKalb County RPCA for your partnership!

We need your help advocating for an increased budget for City of Atlanta parks! With more acreage being added to the City of Atlanta’s parks inventory each year, we must continue to increase funding for parks and maintenance — otherwise, we are falling behind.
Your story is essential in helping us make the case for an increased budget. Please help us by picking a neighborhood park, spending 20 minutes enjoying it, and making observations to share with us by Sunday, May 17. Click here to share your story: https://ow.ly/Bp4050YYs4p
