Veterans Community Living Center at Fitzsimons

This morning we celebrated nurse Suzanne Busboom with 20 plus years of service to our veterans. Thank you for all you have done for staff, veterans, families.

Memorial Day 2026
A program to honor the sacrifice of so many service members around the globe. We also honor and remember our veterans that we lost this past year with their flags at the curb. A program driven by our veterans to always remember their fellow veterans.
Following the service, the rotary club blessed us with a great cookout.

Our veterans were blessed all afternoon by a group of volunteers Monday May 18th from the Colorado Department of Law/Military and Veterans Employee Resource Group. Thanks for sharing stories, conversation and ice cream with us.

Thursday was so much fun! Flower power 1960’s theme with our parade in the morning featuring our king, Buzz. He showed so much character and fun sharing due to his service he missed the peace sign movement. He spread the peace and love leading the parade.
Thursday afternoon we had a karaoke party!

Wednesday’s Western theme and walking taco bar was a hit!

Tuesday’s bold and bright theme had us painting rocks for our gratitude garden. The rocks are now in our main courtyard bringing vibrancy and cheer.

In the afternoon, our drink refresher was enjoyed by all. Many sat outside with their drinks to soak up the sunshine.

National Skilled Nursing Care week
Yesterday we potted lots of new plants to decorate the hallways to meet our theme! Thanks to the Aurora Elks for donating these beautiful pots to us!

Preparation day for National Skilled Nursing Care week. Celebrations start on Sunday 10th with Mother’s Day. This preparation is for next Thursday, 1960s flower power day with our parade at 10 am and Karaoke at 2:15 pm. The float will be so cool and flower crowns for all!

Yeah batter batter! Fun times and great weather for batting practice.
