Community Focused, Student Driven

Iβm writing to express my strong support for Cheryl Reese for re-election to the Elgin Independent School District Board of Trustees, District 2. As a frequent observer and participant in activities in Elgin and as the former Parks and Recreation Department Director Iβve had the opportunity to see firsthand the impact of Mrs. Reeseβs leadership. During her time on the board she has demonstrated a consistent commitment to putting students first and has been an advocate for teachers in our district. She has shown her commitment while balancing the needs of families, teachers and taxpayers.
One of her most important contributions to the board is that she asks the right questions and informs the community so that they have a better understanding of the policies and through that effort she has successfully made EISD a better district. I also appreciate her willingness to not only ask questions but listen to the community and engage in respectful, transparent decision-making. School boards work best when members collaborate, ask tough questions, and stay focused on what matters most-student learning and well-being. Cheryl Reese has shown that balance.
As we look ahead, EISD needs experienced, steady leadership. Cheryl Reese understands the issues, has built strong working relationships, and is prepared to continue moving EISD forward.
I encourage the voters in the community to support Cheryl Reese for re-election to Elgin ISD Board of Trustees, District 2.
