BMS VB Vs Blanco Round 2 - FINAL WRITE UP
PHOTOS BY BMS YEARBOOK :)

8th Grade A Team
The girls battled hard against Blanco in an exciting, back-and-forth match that came down to just a few points! They fought to take set one, 25-23, but Blanco answered in set two, edging the girls out 26-24. In the deciding set, both teams left it all on the court, but Blanco came away with a narrow 15-13 win. Although the outcome wasn’t what we hoped for, these girls showed tremendous heart, determination, and teamwork from start to finish!
Kenzie Campbell led the way with 4 aces and 12 digs, while Trenlie Kocurek added 4 aces of her own. Lila Hicks contributed 2 aces, 3 digs, and a kill, and Marlene Tetzlaff chipped in 1 ace, 2 digs, 2 kills, and 4 assists. Harper Word added 2 aces, a kill, and 5 assists, while Avery Ashcraft made her presence known at the net with 2 kills and an impressive 6 blocks. Ireland Young added 2 kills and 2 blocks, and Abigail Wright contributed 1 ace, 1 kill, 1 block, and 2 assists. Liv O’Donnal added a kill and a block, while Everly Vander Zee contributed a kill and a dig. Karlee Jaschke added 2 digs, and Macy Kennan worked hard in the back row, battling to receive and keep plays alive.

I am so proud of how hard these girls have worked throughout the season and how much they have grown together as a team. It’s never easy to see a season come to an end, especially knowing that these girls be heading off to high school next year. I’m sure going to miss them! They have made so many memories, put in countless hours of hard work, and shown so much heart along the way. I’m incredibly proud of each and every one of them and can’t wait to see what the future holds for these girls!

Bandera Volleyball Finishes the Season Strong!
What a way to finish the season! Bandera closed out the year with another impressive victory, defeating Blanco A in straight sets, 25–17 and 25–20, earning our second consecutive sweep.

The girls played with confidence, determination, and teamwork throughout the match. Maddie Anderwald continued to be an important part of our offense, while Makenzie Thompson stepped into the front row and helped the team finish strong. Presley Binnert and Hailey Perry provided an important presence in the middle, while Evie Rodriguez, Abby Randolph, and the rest of the team contributed to the overall effort.

Looking back, this season was about much more than wins and losses. We faced challenges, worked through frustrating moments, and continued learning how to play together. One of the highlights of our final stretch was the victory over Ingram, when Maddie delivered an incredible 12-point serving run and Emma Grant added five consecutive service points.

What makes these final victories special is seeing how much the girls improved. Earlier in the season, we struggled with consistency, serve receive, and sustaining scoring runs. By the end, we were playing with more confidence, communicating better, and finding ways to win together.

I'm incredibly proud of the growth these girls showed throughout the season. They continued to work, improve, and trust one another, finishing the year with two straight wins and four consecutive sets won.

A great finish to a season of growth! Proud of these Lady Bulldogs!

7th Grade A Team

After losing the first set, 23-25, the Lady Bulldogs rallied back to take the second set 25-7. The third set was a thrilling back and forth match with rallies that lasted several minutes, and in the end the Blanco Panthers took home the Win with a score of 25-16. Our Bulldog fight was tremendous and the girls have so much to be proud of!

7th Grade B Team
The 7th Grade B Team Bulldogs fought hard through a competitive three-set match! The girls showed determination, hustle, and teamwork, battling for every point and never giving up.
One thing I want these girls to remember is that we can always be proud of ourselves, even when things don’t go exactly as planned. Volleyball is a game of mistakes, learning, and growing. What matters most is how we respond, how we encourage one another, and how we keep pushing forward. Don’t be so hard on yourselves that you forget to recognize how far you’ve come!

I’m proud of the effort these girls give every time they step on the court. Keep your heads up, believe in yourselves, and remember that growth is something to celebrate, too!

Let’s Go Bulldogs! We Are One!

Bulldogs Split with Pearsall: 7th Grade Wins, 8th Grade Falls Just Short
PHOTOS BY BMS YEARBOOK! :)

The Bulldogs welcomed the Pearsall Mavericks to the home field with both the 7th and 8th grade teams in action. The 7th grade came away with a well-earned victory, while the 8th grade dropped a hard-fought, one-possession game that could have gone either way.

7th Grade: Bulldogs 19, Mavericks 8
The 7th grade team delivered a complete performance, making big plays in all three phases of the game and giving the home crowd plenty to cheer about.
The biggest moment came on special teams, when Giovanni De La Cruz fielded a punt and took off, weaving through the coverage for a 65-yard return touchdown. The play energized the sideline and showed what a single explosive moment can do for a team’s momentum.
De La Cruz wasn’t done. Later, Brayden Bolt dropped back and found him on a 38-yard touchdown strike, giving the Bulldogs another big play through the air. Bolt’s accuracy and De La Cruz’s ability to make plays with the ball in his hands made the connection tough for Pearsall to handle.
Jackson Munguía rounded out the scoring with a 12-yard touchdown run, showing good vision and a determined finish to the end zone.
The defense played just as big a part in the win. The defensive line took away Pearsall’s inside run game and forced the Mavericks to look elsewhere for yards. Tyden Crowley led the way, topping the defense in tackles and showing up all over the field. His effort and the group’s physical play in the trenches set the tone for the Bulldogs.

8th Grade: Mavericks 8, Bulldogs 6
The 8th grade team played a tight, low-scoring battle that stayed close until the end. Both defenses made it difficult to find room, and every yard was earned.
Aiden Rush gave the Bulldogs their lone touchdown, breaking free on a 38-yard rushing score that lit up the home sideline. It was a strong individual effort, and it kept the Bulldogs within striking distance for the rest of the night.
On defense, Logan Marks made one of the game’s biggest plays, jumping a Pearsall pass for an interception and returning it 15 yards. The turnover gave the Bulldogs another chance and showed the kind of defensive effort that kept the game within reach.
In the end, the Bulldogs came up just short. This group showed a lot of fight, and the margin was slim enough that one more play could have flipped the result.

Looking Ahead
Both teams will have a bye week next week. It’s a good chance to rest, heal up, and sharpen the details in practice. The Bulldogs return to action in two weeks when they take on the Burnet Bulldogs.

The Lady Bulldogs fell to Hunt in two sets, 24-26 and 16-25. After some last-minute lineup and position changes, the team struggled to find its rhythm and consistency on the court. While the adjustments presented challenges, the team continued to compete and work through them.

The Lady Bulldogs will look to regroup and finish strong in their final match at home, Monday against Blanco, with a chance to secure a share of the district championship!

BMS Girls VB vs Ingram Write Up!

8th Grade A Team
The Bandera Lady Bulldogs continued their impressive run Monday night, battling their way to a thrilling three-set victory over Ingram to extend their winning streak to seven consecutive matches.

Bandera showed tremendous fight throughout the match, keeping rallies alive and making play after play defensively. The Lady Bulldogs consistently chased down loose balls and refused to let points slip away, while strong serving and timely attacks helped them control the court.

Marlene Tetzlaff led Bandera from the service line with four aces while adding two kills, one block, seven assists and one dig. Lila Hicks also made an impact with two aces, three kills and three digs. Harper Word contributed one ace, two kills, one dig and seven assists.

Defensively, Kenzie Campbell turned in a strong performance with a team-high 16 digs and one ace, helping keep Bandera in numerous long rallies. Karlee Jaschke added one dig, while Hicks, Tetzlaff and Word also contributed defensively.

At the net, Everly Vander Zee recorded two kills, while Liv O’Donnal, Macy Kennan, Ireland Young and Abigail Wright each added a kill. Avery Ashcraft finished with two kills and a block, while Young added a block. Wright also contributed an assist.

Other serving contributions came from Trenlie Kocurek, who recorded an ace.

With the three-set victory, the Lady Bulldogs have now won seven straight matches and continue to build momentum as the season moves forward.

Bandera’s combination of relentless defense, aggressive serving and timely attacks has the Lady Bulldogs playing with confidence and proving that they are willing to fight for every ball and every point on every play.

The Lady Bulldogs will look to make it eight straight when they return home Monday to take on Hunt at 6 p.m. Bandera will look to carry the same energy, relentless defense and aggressive play into the matchup as the Bulldogs continue their strong run.

8th Grade B Team
Bandera put together one of its strongest performances of the season, defeating Ingram in straight sets, 25–13 and 25–18. The Bulldogs showed tremendous growth from their first meeting with Ingram, playing with more confidence, consistency, and energy from beginning to end.

Serving was a major difference in the match. Maddie Anderwald delivered an incredible run in the first set, staying behind the service line for 12 straight points and helping Bandera take complete control of the set. In the second set, Emma Grant provided another big spark, serving for five straight points to help the Bulldogs create separation and finish the sweep.

The win was a complete team effort. Lilly Garcia continued to provide an important attacking option on the right side, while Presley Binnert and Hailey Perry gave Bandera a strong presence in the middle. Evie Rodriguez helped provide stability defensively, and the setters did a good job giving the hitters opportunities when Bandera controlled the first contact.

What stood out most was how well the girls played together. Instead of allowing mistakes or opponent points to turn into long runs, Bandera responded, stayed aggressive, and created scoring runs of its own. After falling to Ingram in the first meeting, coming back to win 25–13, 25–18 shows just how much this team has grown.

This was more than a win—it was a glimpse of what Bandera can look like when everyone comes together and plays as a team.

7th Grade A Team
Our 7th grade A Team Lady Bulldogs battled hard against the Ingram Lady Warriors, falling in two sets, 14–25 and 11–25.

While the scoreboard wasn’t what we hoped for, there were plenty of positives to take away from tonight’s match. Our girls stepped up and played different positions, supported one another, and worked together as a team. We saw players challenge themselves, learn new roles, and continue to grow throughout the match.

Stats include:

Chelsea Farjardo: 2 digs

Ealyn VanderZee: 1 dig and two aces
