Bandon Rural Fire

09/11/2026

Today, we honor the 2,977 lives lost on September 11, 2001, including the 343 FDNY firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice.

We remember the firefighters, law enforcement officers, EMS personnel, military members, dispatchers, and civilians whose courage and selflessness were shown that day and in the days that followed.

A quarter century has passed, but the bravery, sacrifice, and unity of that day will never be forgotten.

We remember those we lost, we honor those who answered the call, and we stand with the families who continue to carry their memory.

Reminder we are still in fire season. Coos FPA did decrease fire danger to Moderate.

With some rain possibly headed our way, remember that the first wetting rain after a long dry stretch can make roads especially slick. Oil, dust, and other buildup on the roadway can mix with the rain and create hazardous driving conditions.

Slow down
Increase following distance
Use extra caution on curves and intersections

Also, remember that we are still in fire season. A little rain does not mean fire danger is over. Please continue to follow all current fire restrictions and use caution with anything that could cause a spark.
