Chimney math: how many homes’ gas furnaces and water heaters would it take to match the air pollution Pacifico filed? For fine particles, 1.47 million homes, or 518 on every acre of the site. Our generous imaginary neighborhood has 4 per acre.

“A neighborhood would be worse.” We hear it a lot, so we did the math. Take the same 2,842 acres and fill every acre with homes: 4 per acre, 11,368 homes, no parks, no streets. Give every home gas appliances and two cars. Pacifico’s gas plant would still put out about 19 times the CO₂, burn 150 times the natural gas and emit 130 times the fine particles. Sources are in the first comment.

34 COUNTY EMPLOYEES. THREE COMPANIES. ONE MASSIVE PUBLIC RECORDS REQUEST.

A Bastrop County resident filed a Public Information Act (PIA) request seeking calendar invites, emails, and documents involving Anthropic, Pacifico, EdgeConneX, and 34 county employees.

The records are in. They’ve been reviewed and organized into 3 categories. Now, Lost Pines Watch is releasing them to the public.

Every resident deserves to have this information in their hands. You deserve to know what these records show.

*Why are we sharing this? Transparency. We believe Bastrop County residents deserve access to public records so they can review the information for themselves and draw their own conclusions. LPW is providing these records without adding commentary or interpretation. LPW has not modified or altered any of the redactions the county records clerk applied.
*A request to the public: Please be respectful and responsible with this information. The purpose of this release is to inform the public, not to encourage harassment, threats, or personal attacks. Please do not contact or target individuals simply because their names or email addresses appear in these records.

Transparency matters. So does how we use the information made available to us.

Six questions for Pacifico Energy, from your neighbors in Cedar Creek. 1) Who owns Pacifico? 2) Has it ever built or run a gas power plant, or a data center? 3) Which number is right: 710, 1,100 or 1,326 megawatts? 4) Who will own and run the data center, and has Anthropic signed anything? 5) Which of its LLCs answers to Cedar Creek if something goes wrong?! 6) Three U.S. senators sent Pacifico questions about GW Ranch on March 13. Where are the answers? Ask them yourself. The address on Pacifico’s Cedar Creek fact sheet is [email protected]. Please keep it civil and specific, and share any reply you get.

In September 2024, Pacifico’s homepage promised “Renewable Energy on a Transformative Scale.” Today it advertises “natural gas prime power platforms for data center campuses.” Founder Nate Franklin told Forbes, “By 2023 it was clear that AI data center growth was accelerating.” The timeline: U.S. solar and battery sites online in December 2024. The U.S. arm renamed Pacifico Energy in March 2025. Its U.S. solar portfolio sold in June 2025. The GW Ranch gas project announced in August 2025. And 48 turbines filed for Cedar Creek in August 2026. Pacifico still does solar and wind overseas. In Texas, its three projects are all built around gas turbines.

Same company, different permit. For GW Ranch in remote Pecos County, Pacifico’s gas project went through a full “MAJOR SOURCE” review under the federal PSD program, with two public-comment periods before TCEQ issued the permit. In Cedar Creek, a far more populated place, Pacifico filed for an expedited standard-permit registration. TCEQ told Rep. Stan Gerdes that this type of registration isn’t subject to Chapter 39 public participation, and declined his request for a public meeting. TCEQ also said Cedar Creek’s eligibility for the standard permit was still being reviewed. As of Oct. 15 it’s pending. Fair question for TCEQ: how do 48 turbines and 1,326 MW fit a standard permit?
