Louisiana Mid-Continent Oil & Gas Association (LMOGA) LMOGA, founded in 1923, is the trade association exclusively representing all sectors of the industry

Louisiana Mid-Continent Oil and Gas Association, founded in 1923, is a trade association exclusively representing all sectors of the oil and gas industry operating in Louisiana and the Gulf of Mexico. LMOGA serves exploration and production, refining, transportation, marketing and mid-stream companies as well as other firms in the fields of law, engineering, environment, financing and government relations. As a major trade association representing the oil and gas industry in the nation’s largest oil and second largest gas producing state, the activities of LMOGA are vital in the promotion of our industry in the state of Louisiana.

“At a time of continued unrest in the world, energy—gas coming from Louisiana and through Louisiana is extremely important to meeting the growing energy needs across the globe.”

At Tulane’s Future of Energy Forum, LMOGA President Tommy Faucheux highlighted how Louisiana LNG is meeting that demand while strengthening our own economy. “What we’re seeing now is just tremendous investment,” he said—a commitment to continued growth that builds on Louisiana’s longstanding role as an energy leader.

Gasoline might be the product most people associate with refineries, but it is far from the only one.

Refineries turn the same barrel of crude oil into diesel, jet fuel and other products and materials that support transportation, manufacturing and everyday life.

Here in Louisiana, refining plays an important role in producing the resources our state and nation rely on every day.

What happens in Louisiana matters far beyond our state lines.

Our resources, infrastructure, workforce and access to the Gulf make Louisiana an important part of America’s energy system.

It is a responsibility our industry takes seriously and a role Louisiana has built over generations.

There may be more energy hiding in your Halloween costume than you think. 🎃

From polyester and nylon to plastics used in masks and accessories, many of the materials that make up our costumes can be made from petroleum-based products.

Just another way oil and natural gas play a role in the products we use to work, play and celebrate. 👻

Moving energy safely requires more than the pipeline itself.

Operators use monitoring systems, inspections and other technologies to monitor and ensure safe pipeline operations.

It is a combination of infrastructure, technology and trained professionals working together to keep energy moving.

Louisiana energy does not move from point A to point B on its own.

Behind every barrel and every unit of natural gas is a network of people, infrastructure, transportation and facilities working together to keep energy moving where it is needed.

From the Gulf to communities across the state and beyond, Louisiana helps power the energy journey every step of the way.

Candles may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think about oil and natural gas.

Paraffin wax, a common material used in candles, is produced from petroleum. It is another example of how resources from the energy industry become products found throughout our homes.

From the fuel we use to the products we enjoy, energy is part of everyday life in unexpected ways.

LMOGA had the fortune to help organize a meeting today with Secretary Doug Burgum, representatives of the Gulf of America Offshore Energy Industry, elected leaders of the Bayou Region, and Louisiana Department of Conservation and Energy Secretary Dustin Davidson in New Orleans. We had a great discussion about Louisiana’s role in the shifting global energy environment and ways to unlock increased energy production from the Gulf of America.

Thank you to the Trump administration and specifically Secretary Burgum and his team for their commitment to supporting the communities that make American energy dominance possible. As the world faces increased uncertainty, unlocking more Louisiana energy leadership is essential for the security of our country and the continued prosperity of our state.
