In the Community, on Purpose.

Faith, fellowship, and a little fun along the way!

Our Faith & Blue 2026 celebration brought us together with Grace Life Fellowship, CenterWell Senior Primary Care and members of our community for a day of fellowship, fun, valuable resources, and meaningful conversations.

We're grateful for our community partners and everyone who joined us in making this event special. Moments like these remind us why we do what we do.

Because real connections don’t happen by chance. They’re built through faith, fellowship, and people who show up for one another. 💙

💚 FOR ATHENA 💚

In May, Wedgewood Elementary student Athena began experiencing severe headaches that medication couldn’t relieve. What followed were emergency brain surgeries here in Baton Rouge and eventually a trip to Memphis. On June 2, her family received the heartbreaking news at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital that Athena’s brain cancer was terminal.

Before returning to Memphis and her medical team, Athena wanted to come home and spend time with family.

And on Thursday, her Wedgewood family showed up for her too. 💚

Our Community Policing Unit had the privilege of providing Athena with a police es**rt around her school as classmates, teachers and staff lined the way to celebrate her and remind her just how loved she is.

This wasn’t about a diagnosis.

This was about ATHENA.

Green is Athena’s favorite color, so help us turn these comments GREEN. 💚 Leave her and her family a prayer, an encouraging word or simply a 💚 to let them know their community is standing with them.

Follow Her name is Athena to learn more about Athena’s journey, and share this post so we can surround her with as much love and encouragement as possible.

We’re with you, Athena. 💚

🌟 Celebrating Our Young Leader: Kamryn Curley! 🌟

We're so excited to share the amazing accomplishments of Kamryn Curley from Shenandoah Elementary!

🏆 Achievements:

1st Place out of 65 students in her school's essay competition!

Recognized as the overall essay winner among 11 schools by our very own Dare Instructor Deputy Stonaker.

Crowned District Champion in the Capital Area District, securing 1st place out of 7 parishes.

Proudly became the State Runner-Up, earning a trophy and cash prize at the Louisiana State D.A.R.E. Conference held on July 23rd, 2026, in New Orleans, LA!

Kamryn showcased her excellent communication skills by confidently presenting her heartfelt essay at Shenandoah’s DARE graduation ceremony. Her clarity and confidence made a strong impression on Deputy Stonaker, who was evaluating all the remarkable essays.

Let’s celebrate Kamryn’s success as a community! Her journey reminds us of the incredible potential our youth can achieve with the support of dedicated parents and mentors. 💬✨

Because real connections don’t happen by chance; they happen when we actively engage, encourage, and uplift our children.
