What a beautiful fall day! Might as well embrace the season 😉
For those who prefer to hibernate over the next season soming.... today would be a great day to be out on the trails. Be it woods or meadows, all creatures great and small will be out finishing this part of their journey, while enjoying a nice warm day. 75 🤔

Good afternoon Friends of Sahli Nature Park,
If you are able and have a passion for the forest and the trails we love walking on, come on out and give John and i a hand pushing back the Oriental bittersweet and the grape vines. They are killing our trees and choking out the native ecosystem.
Date. Tomorrow the 6th
Time. 10am till 12noon.
Tools will be provided.
This will be a guided/ on job training volunteering type of event 😉
You will need to bring your own gloves and insect/tick repellent., they are increasing in numbers again.
Plus you're own drinking water.
So come on out it will be good community building while saving some trees and All who count on them. The mighty Oaks support some 500 plus species just themselves. They are important to the ecosystem.
Hope to see you tomorrow if can. If possible let us know if coming. Just respond here.
We will meet at the carriage house.

Good morning Friends of Sahli Nature Park!

John and I could use a hand, if you hike the trails and would like to keep the woods and trails in a more natural state. Please come help us on Oct 6th at 10:00 am till about 12 noon as we continue to push back the invasive vines. Those who are on the trails can see damage the invasives are having on a very mature forest. These two vines the Oriental Bittersweet and the Grape vine get in the canopy and steal the sun light, as we know this is their way of food production...
The Oriental bittersweet we will treat as we cut the grape vines will just cut. We wil not pull the vines down!.
So would like to see a couple of you come out and help us push the invasives back. I mean a bunch of you would be quite okay also 😉

Take care and hope you get the chance to get out on the trails, taking in some peace filled moments. We all need the reset, so to speak.
