🩸 Battle of the Badges Results Are In! 🩸

The City of Beavercreek Police Department is taking home the bragging rights this year with a 34–22 win over the Beavercreek Township Fire Department! 🚔🚒 The all-time series is now tied at 6–6 since the competition began in 2014!

While the Police Department may have won the friendly competition, the real winners are the people whose lives may be saved thanks to the generosity of our community. ❤️

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who donated blood, volunteered, helped spread the word, and came out to support this year's Battle of the Badges blood drive at Peace Lutheran Church. With 78 donors, we exceeded the goal of 70 donors in celebration of Peace Lutheran Church's 70th anniversary!

We also want to thank Versiti, Peace Lutheran Church, the Beavercreek Police Department, and everyone who helped make this event such a success.

The Fire Department may be handing over the bragging rights this year, but we're proud to stand alongside our law enforcement partners for such an important cause. After all, saving lives is a win for everyone! 🩸❤️

Thank you, Beavercreek, for your incredible turnout and continued support. We couldn't do it without you!

🗓️ October is National Fire Prevention Month!
Even though Fire Prevention Week is over, it's a great time to remind ourselves how to keep our homes safe and cozy. As it gets colder and we turn up the heat 🌡️, let’s make sure our fireplaces, furnaces, and heaters are in good shape —give them a check or have them serviced if needed.
Keep anything that could catch fire, like boxes or clothes, far from heating sources, and don’t forget about curtains and furniture 🛋️! A little precaution goes a long way in keeping everyone safe and warm this season.

🔥 That’s a Wrap on Fire Prevention Week 2026! 🔥

As Fire Prevention Week comes to a close, we hope you’ll carry this year’s message with you all year long!

This year’s theme was “Charge Into Fire Safety™: Safe Charging Is a Superpower!” The campaign focused on simple, everyday habits that can help prevent fires caused by lithium-ion batteries found in our phones, tablets, laptops, power tools, e-bikes, scooters and more.

🔋 Remember these important charging safety tips:

✅ Use the right charger. Use the charger that came with your device or one approved by the manufacturer.

✅ Unplug when fully charged. Avoid leaving devices plugged in longer than necessary.

✅ Choose a safe charging spot. Charge on a hard, flat surface—not on beds, couches or pillows where heat can build up.

✅ Keep exits clear. Charge larger devices, such as e-bikes and scooters, outdoors when possible and away from exit paths.

✅ Watch for warning signs. Stop using a battery if it becomes unusually hot, swells, leaks, smells strange or makes popping or hissing sounds.

✅ Check your smoke alarms. Working smoke alarms and a practiced home escape plan are essential parts of fire safety.

Thank you to everyone who helped make Fire Prevention Week a success! From our community events to everyday conversations about fire safety, every effort helps make Beavercreek a safer place to live, work and visit.

Plug in. Power up. Stay safe! ⚡

🚒 Please join us in congratulating Firefighter Mitchell Ahlers!

Mitch was officially sworn in on Monday, and we’re excited to welcome him to the Beavercreek Township Fire Department!
