"The system is broken, it takes way too long to get anything done. I spent six and a half years fighting to be able to have access to my kids."
I write this post, with tears in my eyes. My heart breaks for this family. And it is SO true that justice takes *far* too long. And yet, as one seeing the massive dockets that are being addressed by our judges here in the Commonwealth, I also don't know what the answer is. More judges, which results in more cost to the taxpayer? A less litigious society, where we try to resolve our differences outside a courtroom (which is something only those in the know, know I'm known for)? Something else?
I'd love to hear your thoughts, as someone who has both experienced the *significant* delays representing individuals that were *eventually* vindicated and someone who has previous run for judge, hoping to make a difference... Regardless of your thoughts, please keep this family in your prayers
P.S. Here in PA, there are expedited appeal procedures for custody matters; however, those procedures do not dictate how quickly our appellate courts decide the matter. That is an issue - with positives and negatives - itself...
