This includes native Michigan Wildlife as well as exotics. I have been in animal rescue and rehabilitation for decades with a passion for neonatal, motherless kittens. A neonatal kitten is the kitten at its tiniest, newborn to 4 weeks old. Every spring and summer, thousands of motherless kittens are at the risk of death on the streets and in shelters. Let me be their voice and give them a fighting chance!

Okay, okay… we've done a little shuffling around here! LOL. 😂
When Ebony graduated to big kids camp, she came in with an attitude that could rival a tiny WWE wrestler. All I could think of was Annabelle from The Conjuring. But then you look into those big, beautiful eyes and suddenly she's giving off Anime plushie meets the newest edition of Beanie Babies vibes. 🤣
So, naturally, we had an identity crisis and decided Ebony was no longer Ebony. Please welcome Anime!
Sometimes a name just fits, and this one fits her PERFECTLY. She's a sassy, playful, spunky little thing who loves you dearly… provided you remember that everything happens on HER terms. She's basically a tiny queen, and we're just living in her kingdom. 👑😂
Now, I realize I haven't given this handsome little guy much airtime, so let's talk about CK!
This boy is a certified love bug. He'll play until every ounce of energy has left his little body, and then his next mission is to climb you like a tree, park himself on your chest, and take a nice long nap. He does occasionally attempt to suckle my nose, but unfortunately for him, we've had to establish some very firm boundaries in this household. MY NOSE IS NOT A BOTTLE, SIR. 🤣
With Halloween upon us, we are holding off on adopting out our black kittens until November 7th. Both Anime and CK will be ready to head to their forever homes then, with age-appropriate first vaccinations, deworming, and combo testing completed. ❤️
And then there's Morris… or should I say Milo!
We brought Morris and his sister Maisie in about three and a half weeks ago. Sadly, from the very beginning, Maisie struggled to thrive, and despite our efforts, she didn't make it. 💔
Because these two came in together, it just didn't feel right for Morris to continue life as Morris without his Maisie. So, in honor of the dynamic duo, Morris has officially been renamed Milo!
And this sweet boy will be looking for his very own Otis in about four weeks! Because apparently we're not just running a kitten rescue… we're also operating a matchmaking service. 😂❤️
Three kittens, three new identities, and approximately 47 different personalities between them.
Wouldn't have it any other way! ❤️🐾

🖤🐈‍⬛ Guess who FINALLY got to come to Big Kids Camp after 11 long weeks?! 🐈‍⬛🖤

That’s right… EBONY! 🎉🖤

Little Miss Sass has more personality in her tiny body than should probably be legally allowed! 😂💕 This girl is sweet, sassy, and very much her own little person. She likes affection on her terms and at her level. Being picked up? Absolutely not, thank you very much! Cuddles? Yes, please… as long as she’s the one calling the shots! She can be a little prickly around the edges, but that’s all part of her charm. 😹🖤

Ebony made it just in time to celebrate National Black Cat Day, and we couldn’t be happier to have this little spitfire taking her next steps with us! 🖤✨

We’re hoping to find a very special home for Ebony—one that understands she’s had a bit of a rocky start and may need some extra attention to her health along the way. She has a sensitive digestive system that can cause ongoing tummy troubles, so a family willing to partner with her vet and give her a little extra TLC would be a wonderful fit. 💕🐾

Ebony may need a little extra care, but she has plenty of sass, sweetness, and personality to share! She deserves a family who will love her just as she is, respect her boundaries, and give her the patience and understanding she needs to keep blossoming. 🖤

Could you be the special someone Ebony has been waiting for? 🏡💕

🐾 A VERY IMPORTANT REMINDER ABOUT OUR ADOPTION POLICIES 🐾

At Misty's Itty-Bitty Kitties, every single baby that comes through our doors receives an incredible amount of love, time, dedication, and care. From sleepless nights and round-the-clock feedings to veterinary care, cleaning, worrying, and fighting for the lives of these tiny, fragile babies, we put our blood, sweat, tears, and hearts into every kitten we save. These babies are not just kittens to us, they are lives we have fought hard to protect, and we take finding them the right homes very seriously. ❤️

With that being said, there are a few things every potential adopter needs to understand.

📌 1. Adoption applications MUST be completed in FULL!

When we send out an adoption application, we expect it to be completed thoroughly and honestly. Unfortunately, the majority of applications we receive are missing information or are only partially completed. An incomplete application may result in automatic disqualification.
Our application is not complicated, and taking the time to complete it properly is the first step in showing us that you are serious about adopting one of our babies. If you cannot take a few minutes to complete an application, how can we feel confident that you are prepared to take on the responsibility of caring for a kitten who may require extra attention, patience, and dedication?
We are not asking for anything unreasonable. We are asking for the same level of commitment that we give these babies every single day.

📌 2. Interest in a kitten does NOT guarantee adoption!

Submitting an application or expressing interest in one of our kittens does not automatically make that kitten yours. Every application will be thoroughly reviewed, and we reserve the right to select the applicant we feel is the best fit for each individual kitten.

📌 3. Communication is essential!

If we email you regarding your application or your interest in a kitten, please respond in a timely manner. We cannot and will not chase people down repeatedly to determine whether they are still interested.
If we send multiple emails and receive no response, we will move forward with the next eligible applicant. Once we have done so, you cannot simply assume that the kitten is still being held for you or that you are still in line to adopt.
Our rescue will not put a kitten’s future on hold indefinitely while waiting for someone to respond. These babies deserve families who are responsive, reliable, and genuinely ready to welcome them home.

📌 4. Please respect our time and the adoption process!

We understand that life gets busy, and we understand that things happen. However, communication and follow-through matter. We spend countless hours caring for these babies, often sacrificing sleep and personal time to give them the best possible chance at life. We ask that potential adopters respect the time and effort we put into this process.
Our policies are in place to protect our kittens and ensure they go to safe, loving, committed homes. They are not meant to inconvenience anyone, and they are not up for debate.

🐱 At the end of the day, our responsibility is to the kittens—not to meet the expectations of people who are unwilling to follow the process.
We will always do what we believe is best for the babies in our care. If you are genuinely interested in adopting, please complete your application in full, communicate with us, and respect the process.
These little lives depend on us to make the right decisions for them. We will never apologize for taking that responsibility seriously. ❤️🐾

Thank you to the applicants who are patient, respectful, communicative, and understand just how much goes into rescuing and raising these precious babies. You are appreciated more than you know! 🐾💕

Thank you!
Misty & Brandi

🐾❤️ A LITTLE RESCUE UPDATE & AN IMPORTANT REMINDER! ❤️🐾
First, we have some happy news to share… SYLVESTER HAS BEEN ADOPTED! 🏡🐱❤️ We are so happy that he has found his forever home and wish him a lifetime of love, happiness, and spoiled-kitty moments!
With that exciting news, Misty and I also want to share something important with everyone who finds a kitten in need and reaches out to us for help. ❤️
🐱 DID YOU KNOW THAT YOU CAN APPLY TO ADOPT THE KITTENS YOU BRING TO RESCUE? 🐱
Absolutely! If you find a kitten in need and bring them to us for rescue, you are more than welcome to apply to adopt that kitten yourself! In fact, finders will receive priority consideration over other adoption applicants, provided their adoption application is approved and they agree to and sign our adoption contract.
We love that people care enough to stop, help, and get these little ones somewhere safe. And if you have already fallen in love with that tiny face, we understand! ❤️ We want to give you the opportunity to make that rescue story your own happily-ever-after.
We do, however, need to share a little about our adoption process. Misty and I put a lot of time, love, and effort into making sure every kitten goes to a safe, loving, and committed home. That means sending applications, reviewing information, communicating through texts and emails, and preparing adoption contracts.
Unfortunately, sometimes we reach out repeatedly and never receive a response. We completely understand that life gets busy, and we know circumstances can change. But while we wait, these kittens still need permanent homes, and we have a responsibility to keep their adoption process moving forward.
Sylvester's adoption is an example of why communication is so important. We made our attempts to move forward with the process, but when we weren't able to get the responses needed, we had to move forward with another approved adopter. Sylvester has now been adopted, and we couldn't be happier for him! ❤️
Please understand that this isn't about being harsh or unappreciative. It's about making sure these babies don't miss out on wonderful homes while waiting for an application or contract to be completed.
✨ If you find a kitten and bring them to us for rescue, please don't hesitate to let us know if you'd like to be considered for adoption! We are happy to work with you through the process. We simply ask that you communicate with us, respond to messages, and let us know if your plans change.
Our promise is to do everything we can to give these babies the safe, loving futures they deserve. All we ask is that you help us make that possible by working with us, too. 🐾❤️
Thank you to everyone who helps us rescue, foster, support, and find forever homes for these precious little lives. Every kitten deserves a chance, and together, we can give them one! 🐱🏡💕
With love and gratitude,
Misty & Brandi ❤️🐾

So Twitch (new name tba later) went home with his very own purrfect family yesterday! Kelly, Sal, Luke and Leo will give him the best home!

For me (and I'm sure Misty too 😉) this is my favorite part of fostering these babies, the smiles when their new family finds them! This will be Luke and Leo's first pet and they have been begging for years! Mom and Dad surprised them. This photo was snapped right as they were told that Twitch was theirs 😊
