Ballots are due by 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 4th, and if you’re still deciding, the Bellingham Herald’s voter guide is a great place to start.
In it, I talk about what I’ll bring to the Prosecutor’s office: 15 years as a prosecutor, including seven leading the criminal division as Chief Criminal Deputy; modernizing the office to make it more efficient, transparent, and accountable; and taking on our county’s most challenging cases, including the cold case homicide of Mandy Stavik.
I also share my vision for what comes next: expanding diversion programs like LEAD, building out wraparound services and restorative justice, and making the new Behavioral Care Center work for our community so everyone in our justice system gets a fair shake and a real chance to recover and rebuild.
I’m honored to have the support of both of the last two Whatcom County Prosecutors, Eric Richey and Dave McEachran, along with local leaders across our community.
