In Berkeley, Malcolm X Day is an official holiday.

Born May 19, 1925, Malcolm X fought for Black power & human rights. Among the issues was housing: he pointed out that poor housing conditions caused by landlord neglect was a barrier to education & success in life. It still is. The work continues!
