The Bethlehem Fire Department and Ambulance responded to a chimney fire. As people start burning wood please be mindful and have your wood or pellet stoves inspected by a professional before burning. It can save a lot of headaches down the road.

Heros in our midst. Today Chief Wood, Firefighters Lafluer, Otis and Officer Redmond completed the 110 floor 911 Challenge to honor those who climbed the stairs in the World Trade Centers September 11, 2001.

Road Closure Notice: September 8th 2026
Location: Area of 170 Cherry Valley Rd Bethlehem NH, 03574
Time Start: 9am

Bethlehem Highway crews will be replacing an aging culvert in the area of 170 Cherry Valley Rd ahead of paving being done later on this year. Please expect delays you will still be able to access Cherry Valley Rd from Prospect St.

Yesterday the Bethlehem Ambulance was dispatched to the Gale River Loop Road for the report of an injured hiker. Three NH Fish & Game Officers and 29 volunteers from Pemi Search & Rescue were part of the operation. Pemi are volunteers who drop everything and hike up mountains in any condition Summer and Winter. Yesterday they hiked up the Garfield Trail 5.5 to the hiker and carried him down until they were met by F&G with ATV's. F&G then brought the hiker the rest of the way. These rescues would not be possible without the volunteers of Pemi Search and Rescue. If you want to know more of their operations, volunteer or donate use the following link:

Yesterday was a busy day for the Bethlehem Fire Department. Three medical calls, two fire alarm activations and four reports of trees and wires down. Thank you to Littleton Fire Rescue and Twin Mountain Fire Rescue for your mutual aid responses.

The Profile Class of 2026 will be escorted to the Bethlehem and Lafayette Elementary Schools by our local Fire Departments. If you see the bus, give the kids a big wave and congratulations for their achievement and well wishes for their futures!!
