Happy 7 months to our sweet baby Sage Ivy! I think it’s safe to say she’s officially settling in and finding her place with Team Onuskernsey! From tug-of-war over a stolen sock to chasing that very persistent invisible squirrel, she and Fern are thick as thieves and always up to something! We’re so grateful for this little bundle of joy and all the laughter she’s brought into our home over the last month! What up, Fern Hoh heur! Mom and Dad got me the best birthday present ever! And no, it wasn’t extra treats (which feels like a missed opportunity). I’m getting promoted to big sister, finally! That’s right! There’s a new baby joining the family! A baby sister. She’s almost six months old! Apparently, I’ve also been promoted to security detail, snack patrol, and general supervisor. Mom and Dad even asked me to help pick her middle name, which makes sense because that's a decision that leadership should be making! I have a short list of middle names I'm considering, but I need your help to narrow it down to three finalists. Those three will go into the final round, where I’ll be choosing the winner from shuffled cups, like a professional decision maker! So holla at me in the comments, which of the following names you like best! Choose carefully. I’m the big sister now, and I don’t take no nonsense! Oh yeah, they picked 'Sage' for her first name, so make sure it sounds good, has rhythm, but naturally my name comes first! Fern Hoh is officially one year old, which feels impossible considering she was just a baby yesterday and now runs this household! She’s up to 40 tricks and commands (and counting). Whisper Bark remains a standout achievement and a personal favorite. With the amount of snow we’ve had, weave poles may be next whether anyone is ready or not. Snow is her entire personality at the moment! She plows it, digs it, and bites it out of the air with purpose. Snowballs, however, are deeply offensive and will not be tolerated. Her current favorite game is keep-away, because she knows exactly how to start a chase and enjoys every second of it. Plot twist: mom stole her keys, and now Fern considers them priceless. She’s also been promoted to Project Foreman. With a full year of experience telling people what to do, the role feels earned. Happy first birthday, Fern! Fern Hoh just hit 10 months! She's been living her best outdoor life lately—more hikes, leaf piles and her very first snow (since she was a wee baby)… and she is obsessed. She even met Groot and acted like they were old friends! She’s always ready to jump in the truck for an adventure, and we’ve been working on agility skills too—balance beam practice and her first intro to weave poles like the little athlete she is! Halloween was a whole vibe: her MakerCamp sticker came to life and she went full Dog Shark (DM me if you want a DogShark sticker!). Also… we can now perform squeakotomies on stuffies, even the puffin from Maine. And after all that, she’s still the sweetest cuddle bug. 01/22/2026
