Memorial Day is almost here, and we’re preparing to serve a special cookout meal for the men at Firehouse! 🇺🇸🍔🌭

Firehouse Ministries' 9th Annual Shoes & Brews is THREE WEEKS AWAY!!

Join us for this FREE community event designed to bring people together for a great cause.

Admission is free, but we invite you to participate by bringing new or gently used shoes to donate. For every one pair of shoes you give, you will receive one ticket for a chance to win amazing prizes and experiences.

Why shoes? Our clothing closet is open three days a week, serving men and women in our community who need clothing, shoes, and personal hygiene items. We are constantly distributing essentials, and shoes are one of the most requested items.

Shoes & Brews is a fun way to make a tangible difference. Enjoy the event, invite your friends, and help us keep our shelves stocked for those who rely on this resource.

We’re excited to continue our partnership with Volunteer Lawyers of Birmingham ( ) as we enter year two of working together!

As the men at Firehouse work to rebuild their lives, access to legal support is a critical step toward long-term stability. Navigating civil legal matters can often be overwhelming and costly, creating barriers that make it harder to move forward with confidence and independence.

Each month, VLB visits Firehouse to provide our men with the opportunity to receive legal assistance for their civil legal needs. This consistent, on-site support plays a vital role in helping remove obstacles and empowering our men as they take meaningful steps forward.

We are incredibly grateful to Volunteer Lawyers of Birmingham for their willingness to support our community, and for the kindness and care they show our men each time they visit. Thank you, VLB, for being such an important part of the Firehouse family!

Firehouse Shelter’s 9th Annual Shoes & Brews Co****le Tournament and Fundraiser is about a month away! This annual event brings our community together for an afternoon filled with fun, connection, and a little friendly competition all while support of a meaningful cause.

But Shoes & Brews isn’t just about fun, it’s about showing up for the men at Firehouse as they work to rebuild their lives. Every game played and every dollar raised helps provide shelter, meals, and the supportive services our men need to move toward stability and independence.

Huge thank you to Forstall for hosting an incredible 50th Anniversary celebration! It was a joy to celebrate such a meaningful milestone and see the impact your work has made over the years.

We are especially grateful for your support of Firehouse. Your generosity and partnership help make our mission possible, and we are thankful to stand alongside people so committed to giving back to our community. Congratulations on 50 years!

A few weeks ago, we had the opportunity to represent Firehouse Shelter at Midfield City Schools’ () Community Care & Family Support Fair, and it was our first time attending!

This incredible event brought together organizations from across the community to provide resources for students and families, including academic support, health and wellness services, family resources, and community programs.

We were truly honored to be invited and to connect with so many amazing individuals and organizations doing meaningful work. We’re already looking forward to being part of it again next year!

Over 40 high school seniors from Cornerstone Schools of Alabama came to Firehouse Ministries!

These students showed up ready to serve and give back and jumped right into meaningful work across our campus. From folding and labeling clothes in our clothing closet, to organizing our pantry and supply spaces, to even tackling window cleaning, their energy and dedication made a real impact.

We’re so grateful for young leaders who are already making a difference in our community. Thank you for serving alongside us!
