Samaritan Counseling Centers of Greater Birmingham and the Resource Center for Pastoral Excellence at Samford University will host “Gateway to Hope: Birmingham” a workshop on ministry to veterans. The day-long event will be held at Samford University on March 17, 2015. The workshop will provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and resources related to helping clergy, congregations, and communities work together to meet unique needs of veterans and their families.

Merry Christmas to all of Samaritan's Facebook friends! December is the time that we have a fund raising emphasis. As a non-profit, we depend on gifts from our supporters to maintain our ministry. During 2015 we will provide nearly $40,000 in assistance to those who need help to pay counseling fees. Although we cannot share stories because of confidentiality, we do have many stories that tell of people who are now experiencing an improved life because of counseling.
