Hey neighbors! Welcome to Mission Ready Monday with Jay. For this week’s Mission Ready Monday, I want to introduce you to an organization doing something incredibly important right here in our community: Seeds of Impact.

Their mission is simple, but powerful: empower moms and impact generations.

Seeds of Impact works with moms, particularly moms in recovery, providing parenting education, support, coaching, and community to help them break generational cycles and build stronger relationships with their children.

And here’s what I love about that mission:

They’re not just trying to change today. They’re trying to change tomorrow.

Because when you help a mother become a healthier, more confident parent, you’re not just impacting one person.

You’re impacting her children.

And potentially her grandchildren.

That’s what mission ready looks like, seeing a need, stepping up, and planting seeds that may produce a harvest long after we’re gone.

So this Monday, I encourage you to check out Seeds of Impact, learn about what they’re doing, and find a way you can support their mission.

Because sometimes the biggest impact we make starts with something as small as a seed.

Think about this for a second. Have you ever been sitting across from somebody you love, and technically you’re together—but they’re looking at their phone, and you’re looking at yours?

We’re physically present, but mentally somewhere else.

And our kids are watching this.

They’re learning what we consider important by watching what gets our attention.

So maybe tonight, put the phone down during dinner. Look across the table. Ask somebody how their day really went.

Because eventually, somebody is going to wish they had one more conversation with you.

And you’re not going to wish you had spent more time scrolling.

So here’s the question: Could you go an entire evening with your family without touching your phone? That’s today’s Hot Take.

The Person You Are When Nobody Is Watching.

I was thinking about this on the way to the office this morning.

Character isn’t what you post. Character is what you do when nobody can applaud you.

Anybody can look good when people are watching.
Anybody can say the right thing when there’s a camera on them.
But what do you do when nobody will ever know?

Do you return the money you were accidentally given back too much change?
Do you tell the truth when a lie would be easier?
Do you help somebody when there’s absolutely nothing in it for you?

That’s character.

And I think one of the greatest tests of who we are is what we do when there is no audience.

So let me ask you something: who taught you the most about character? Mine were my grandparents and parents along with a myriad of others. I’d love to know who that influence was in your life.

SHELBY COUNTY, Ala. — A Shelby County judge has granted a preliminary injunction preventing Alabama Power from entering Fenn Church’s property as the larger leg
