The Friends of Blue Hills Parkway
Friends of Blue Hills Parkway is a volunteer group dedicated to preserving and enhancing Milton's historic parkway for present and future generations.
Blue Hills Parkway was constructed in 1894 and was one of the first connecting parkways in the Boston area designed by noted landscape architect, Charles Eliot, an associate of the Olmsted Brothers. Today the Parkway serves as a gateway to the Blue Hills Reservation in Milton on the south and the Neponset River Reservation and Boston on the north. Neighbors in the Blue Hills Pkwy area should be aware that some wonderful improvements are being developed for the Parkway.
The Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) and the Neponset River Watershed Association (NepRWA) are conducting a community process to determine if community members are interested in a walking, biking, and rolling connection from the Neponset River to the Blue Hills Reservation.
