Thanks to our lead sponsors Aaron Vega State Rep and Senator Adam Hinds and Ways and Means Chairs State Representative Aaron Michlewitz and Senator Michael Rodrigues for continuing to make SSYI (4000-0005) a priority for our communities.
The results speak for themselves. For every $1 invested into SSYI, the Commonwealth saves $5 in victimization costs! Last year we saw a 36% reduction in violent crimes and a 50% reduction in weapons-related charges in SSYI communities!*
SSYI treats violence and poverty like a public health crisis by funding outreach, workforce, education, case management and counseling for justice-involved emerging adults. Let's continue the funding at $10 million into FY21 to continue lifting up our communities and our young people!
