Program Manager Elisha Underwood had a great time at the Deerfield Valley Health & Wellness Fair alongside Cornerstone Housing Partners, SASH Vermont,Senior Solutions—Area Agency on Aging for Southeastern Vermont, and other great organizations! It was wonderful to meet people from Deerfield Valley and connect them with resources to help keep the community healthy and lead safe!

The Health & Wellness Fair will take place at the Old School Enrichment Center, 1 School St. in Wilmington, VT.

This is a great opportunity to gather information from area resources and organizations that help keep the Deerfield Valley healthy.

The Windham County Lead Hazard Control Program is seeking qualified consultants to assist with the development and creation of program policies and procedures.
The selected consultant will work with the Lead Hazard Control Program Manager and staff to review current practices, identify policy needs, and develop clear, comprehensive policies and procedures to support program operations and compliance requirements.
Interested? Proposals should include:
• Relevant experience and qualifications
• Experience developing policies and procedures
• Proposed approach and scope of services
• Estimated timeline
• Fee structure/total cost
• Professional references, if available

Can you tell the difference? 🐊

The top picture is an alligator. The bottom is "alligatoring" paint.

Alligatoring is a pattern of cracks in old paint that resembles an alligator's skin. Not all cracked paint contains lead, but homes built before 1978 may have lead-based paint. As it deteriorates, it can create lead-contaminated dust, the most common source of lead exposure for children.
