WASHINGTON COUNTY FALL SHREDDING STARTED TODAY! 🚜

Shredding crews are mobilized and have begun work on Pickens Road today.

Crews will start on the north side of Highway 105 and work west toward the county line near Burton. From there, they will move to the south side of Highway 290 and work east toward Chappell Hill and Old Washington.

Please use caution when traveling near shredding equipment and give crews plenty of room to work safely!

🌧️ BURN BAN LIFTED 🌧️

Washington County is very thankful for the much-needed rain we received last night!

Effective today, the Washington County Burn Ban has been lifted.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation while the burn ban was in effect. Please continue to use caution and practice safe burning.

A Flood Watch has been issued for the northwest counties of SE TX. Numerous showers/t-storms are expected through Friday. The heaviest storms could result in rainfall rates of 2-4 inches per hour. Rapid runoff could result in flooding problems. Be especially cautious driving at night.

Chad Dismukes Officially Sworn In as Precinct 3

Washington County is pleased to announce that Chad Dismukes was officially sworn in today, August 28, 2026, as Washington County Commissioner for Precinct 3.

Commissioner Dismukes will fill the remainder of the unexpired Precinct 3 term.

The voters of Precinct 3 selected Commissioner Dismukes during the 2026 Primary Election, and today marks the beginning of his official service on the Washington County Commissioners Court.

We congratulate Commissioner Chad Dismukes and look forward to his service to the citizens of Precinct 3 and Washington County.
