A message from William Allen.....

Peace and Blessings to you ALL!

Before I get to the gist of this email, I would like for EVERYONE to know that I'm doing more than well and that's because of the SUPPORT, PRAYERS and LOVE you ALL have shown me throughout my incarceration and FREEDOM. My days are full with work at a Tufankjian Toyota, which I love, and weekends are spent with my family and heading to church on Sundays with Chaplain Peg Newman who has known me since way back when, as they say, and partners with me now on the Second Chance Justice team. Together with other SCJ leaders, we are actively exploring how to build on the knowledge and experience gained in getting me released to help others get a second chance.

And....that's the purpose of this email, because our pursuit of liberation has just begun and I need that same energy and love that you all have shown me to now be shared with Ramadan Shabazz. Last month, Ramadan received full support for commutation from the Massachusetts Advisory Board of Pardons. It is now in the hands of Gov. Charlie Baker and it is really important for him to take action before he leaves office in January. If he doesn't, the process to bring Ramadan home after over 50 years of incarceration will take even longer. You can learn more about Ramadan by clicking here.

At this link, there is a letter of support for Ramadan Shabazz and I invite everyone to join me and our Second Chance Justice team in signing on to urge Gov. Baker to commute Mr. Shabazz's sentence. I know Mr. Shabazz personally and he is a great man who is deserving of a second chance as I was. So let's all rally around him and bring him home by signing the letter of support!

Thank you and God Bless -
William Allen

The Governor’s Council voted unanimously to approve William’s commutation! Now the only hurdle to freedom is a Parole Board hearing to be scheduled soon. (The Parole Board is the same body that unanimously recommended William’s commutation to the gov.)
Thank you again for making this happen. Our work will continue to create more opportunities for more second chances. https://www.wcvb.com/article/william-allen-thomas-koonce-murder-sentence-commutation-vote-massachusetts-governors-council/39107051
