In May, we celebrate Older Americans Month! Older Americans Month is a time to recognize older Americans contributions, highlight aging trends, and reaffirm commitments to serving older adults in our communities.

This year’s theme, “Champion Your Health,” is focused on prevention, wellness, and personal responsibility as cornerstones of healthy aging. It encourages older adults to take an active role in their health by advocating for themselves, accessing preventive care, and making informed decisions that support their independence.

Yesterday, OCES and residents from our local Councils on Aging visited the Massachusetts State House for Lobby Day to make our voices heard and advocate for continued funding and support for older adults in our communities.

We are grateful to Mass Aging Access for organizing such a meaningful day and creating the opportunity for us to connect directly with our State Senators and Representatives to discuss the priorities impacting older adults and caregivers across the Commonwealth.

Advocacy matters, and together we can continue working toward stronger support and resources for the communities we serve.

This Nurses Week, we recognize the incredible impact our nurses at OCES have across our community. Every day, you show up with skill, compassion, and a commitment to making a real difference in people’s lives.

Your presence in the community strengthens those you serve and leaves a lasting impact that truly matters. We are grateful for the work you do and the difference you make, today and every day!

While not all of our amazing nurses are pictured, we appreciate each and every one of you and the dedication you bring to our community. Thank you for all that you bring to this profession and to OCES. 💙
