Our deepest condolences go out to the family, friends, and constituents of former Representative Michael V. Nelson. He served our House District with dedication, integrity, and a profound commitment to his community. We worked closely together during my time on the Brooklyn Park City Council, and I will always value his partnership. His leadership and legacy of public service will not be forgotten. May he rest in peace.

I was deeply honored to be gowned by President Joseph Boakai in recognition of my unwavering commitment to the immigrant community. This humbling experience is a powerful reminder that true leadership is rooted in service to others. As I campaign to represent Minnesota House District 38A, I carry that same dedication with me.
I am ready to bring this level of commitment and advocacy to the State Capitol to work for you. Thank you, President Boakai, for recognizing my mission.

After years of dedication, leadership, and volunteering, we celebrate Roger Backstrom on his retirement from Godfather’s Pizza of Brooklyn Park.
Godfather hosted my very first campaign fundraiser, a testament to Roger’s generosity and commitment to community. He has been more than a business leader; he’s been a cornerstone of Brooklyn Park—creating jobs, building relationships, and serving generations with pride and consistency.
Wishing you a well-earned retirement filled with joy, relaxation, and new adventures. Thank you for everything you’ve given to Brooklyn Park, Roger Backstrom

This week I had the joy of celebrating The Wood, a dedicated space for teens and young adults at the Zanewood Recreation Center. This $10 million investment is one I proudly supported during my time on the Brooklyn Park City Council. The space is absolutely stunning and will nurture and empower our youth for years to come!
