Legacy Family Center is a small, grassroots organization started and developed by a group of women who are also facing the challenges of being from a minority, raising children as single mothers, learning to survive and thrive as immigrants, and who are all passionate about supporting each other and the community. We believe that all families have valuable contributions to make if we work together. We also believe that education starting in early childhood is essential to our children's future.

Happy New Year to all of our family, friends, and supporters of Legacy Family Center! We appreciate all your support in expanding our network. On 12/16/23 LFC hosted its first resource day for women and girls with giveaways that included undergarments, menstrual kits, winter coats, children's books, and food from Panera in Brooklyn Park. Legacy Family Center is hosting its first resource day for women and girls this Saturday 12/16th at the Brookly Park Library located on 8500 West Broadway from 1pm to 5pm. This is a first come, first serve resource day for women and girls.

On a day that deserves two cups of hot chocolate with lots of whipped cream, LFC Minnesota attended City of Brooklyn Park, MN's Halloween Spooktacular. We were greeted by happy witches, one tiny maid, several turtles excitedly grabbing their favorite books, one run away witch and many other characters that were all patiently waiting their turn to grab a literacy by the horns. Literacy is sweet when it is accessible (Best Candy for the Brain) Yum!

An amazing thing happened at LFCMinnesota this week Victoria’s Secret & Co. donated 2,413 women and girls' underwear worth $12,065. LFCMinnesota will distribute these items in collaboration with its partners in Brooklyn Park and Brooklyn Center (hair braiding shops, mosques, churches, and several apartments). We know that young girls need community support to thrive. LFCMinnesota is excited to be a part of the community thanks to the generosity of Victoria’s Secret & Co.

Summer is winding down, but ensuring literacy is accessible to children and youth doesn't wind down. Legacy Family Center participated in Osseo School District family engagement event at Park Center High School on Saturday, September 09th. Thanks to our partner for the opportunity.
