Join us TONIGHT for our December meeting at 7:30pm at An-Noor Center, 7114 5th Avenue. We will be hearing from South Brooklyn Sanctuary, a local immigrants rights defense project, and we will also discuss upcoming petition and endorsement timelines.

REMINDER! Tonight is our monthly meeting. We will be debriefing the results from our local races last week and planning for the future. If you have been thinking about joining us, now is a great time.

Last night was tough. We all woke up this morning to a deeply disappointing outcome in the presidential race, and we took some losses locally as well.

We do want to congratulate State Senator Andrew Gounardes on his resounding re-election victory, and longtime friend and club member Hemalee Patel on her election to a civil court judgeship in Brooklyn’s 5th Municipal District.

We also applaud Senator Iwen Chu, Chris McCreight, and Andrea Morse for their tremendous efforts in their respective races. While they came up short in their campaigns for office, they are each incredibly dedicated public servants who will continue fighting for our communities every way they can.

Moments like this can be disheartening, but these moments are also why our club exists. There would be no need for the Bay Ridge Democrats if we could take winning our local elections for granted.

These next four years we’re going to have to work harder than ever. We need your help, so please join us at our upcoming meeting: Thursday 11/14, 7:30 PM at 9413 5th Avenue. We’ll debrief our local races, dig into some of the numbers, and begin discussing our path forward.

Early voting starts this SATURDAY! Join us as we rally to support local candidates, knock on doors to get out the vote, and take ourselves to the polls!
